Where does Jake film LIZZIE MCGUIRE?
Jake WON BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A FEATURE FILM for his role in A.I. - Artificial Intelligence from the Young Artist Awards.
A.I. is out on video NOW! The reviews have been incredible. Only time will tell what the response will be. Jake went to the Premiere in New York and L.A. (see pictures) A few of Jake's scenes were cut, but he still has a great role in the film. A.I. is directed and written by Steven Spielberg. (See wrap party pictures!) Jake read for the role early in April of 2000 then was asked to come by and meet with Steven April 24 at Warner Brothers. Steven told Jake he had seen a tape of all his performances and thought that he was a great actor. Jake was offered the role that day. It took a week to figure out how he could shoot the film and his new sitcom (see below) at the same time, but on April 28th everything was settled. Jake was thrilled to have worked on such a great project with Mr. Spielberg. It was an exciting time for a ten year old. Jake was shooting on the film or his sitcom, non-stop, from August through October of 2000.
Jake's sitcom is on the Disney Channel. "LIZZIE McGUIRE" reruns at various times. (See pictures.) Jake wrapped LIZZIE FOREVER in June of 2002.
Keep your eyes on the tube, he has national TV commercials for Purina, Budget
and Toyota that are on the air now.
Jake's film, "THE CELL",
is out for rental and it is different! He stars with Jennifer Lopez, Vince Vaughn and Vincent D'Onofrio. The
premiere in August of 2000 was in Century City with a party afterwards at the Century Club. It was
great fun. (See pictures.) After you see the film you
will understand why the shoot was Jake's most challenging. His character required some
rough scenes. THE CELL's incredible sets at the Warner
Brothers Hollywood Studios included one that required the cast and crew to be
enclosed inside a dungeon-like tank filled with water for a week of shooting. If
you haven't seen it yet, get ready for a ride, because it is wild. Roger Ebert
said it is "ONE OF THE
BEST MOVIES OF 2000. TWO THUMBS UP"!!!!
